Working with the Best

Senior Media Planners Katy Goodman and Lindsay London completed Google Partner certification for the agency. They put their thinking caps on and completed the course in order to better serve our clients.


 We recently achieved the distinction of becoming a Google Partner. Along with the fancy new badge on our website, we now have a different level of business respect from Google. According to Google, “The Google Partner badge means that we trust you, and your clients should too. It shows your business is healthy, your clients are happy, and that you follow Google best practices.”

There are several different types of Partner badges, and ours is specific to Google AdWords (paid search). Although we’ve been running effective paid search campaigns for years, we finally decided to make it official and get certified. This certification brings credibility to our claims of being awesome.

So how did we qualify for the Google seal of approval? Agencies qualify for Partner status after meeting the following requirements:

  • Create and complete a Partners company profile so you can be listed on Google Partner Search
  • Have employees certified in AdWords
  • Manage a minimum volume of spend
  • Implement best practices across client accounts

There are several test options you can take in order to achieve AdWords certification. Everyone must take the AdWords Search Fundamentals certification, but after that you can choose one of two options: advanced search or advanced display. We chose to take the advanced search test as it best fit the needs of our current clients.

Agencies that have achieved Partner status are listed on Google Partner Search, which is Google’s search engine for Partners. Additionally, we now have access to:

  • Exclusive AdWords offers for prospective and existing clients
  • Special events and trainings
  • Industry research
  • Free AdWords certification exams and training materials

Although there are obvious advantages for Slingshot to being a Google Partner, our clients also benefit from having teams certified in best practices and up-to-date on the latest trends. We’re excited about having an additional resource to continue producing great work.
