Slingshot repeats on Advertising Age’s Best Places to Work List.
For the second straight year, Slingshot was named one of Advertising Age’s
Best Places to Work in Marketing and Media. This year Slingshot came in at number 16 out of the 40 ranked agencies and media companies and the 185 total that participated from across the country, ranked as one of the highest in the Southwest.
The freedom to explore different career paths due to the agency restructuring was sited as one of the top benefits to Slingshot employees.
"We had a typical departmental-agency model where people just kind of stick to one thing," said Owen Hannay, founder-CEO. "The problem was there was a single career path in each department. But we blew up the entire model and allowed people to play with multiple roles."
Summer hours, paid sabbaticals and the Slingshot Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic organization that allows staff to raise money for Dallas community schools are also noted as experiences that make Slingshot one of the best places to work.
Best Places to Work award recipients are selected through an evaluation of a company-completed survey which inquires about benefits and policies, and an employee survey that covers topics including employee engagement, vacation time, communications and workplace culture.
